What makes your products "healthy"?
Our products are all natural! Chocolate Covered Everything does not add any preservatives, chemicals, food coloring, lard, hydrogenated oils, or high-fructose corn syrup. We use organic ingredients whenever possible. We always add organic whole grain flour to our homemade baked goods as well as organic sugar, cage free organic eggs, organic grass fed butter, sea salt, and aluminum-free baking powder. Are your products low calorie?
Our products are not low calorie, but as you'll see throughout the website, we try to use the healthiest ingredients whenever possible... Such as, we might use organic applesauce in place of butter, organic whole grain flour instead of white flour, organic maple syrup instead of sugar, or just less sugar altogether.
Do your products taste good or do they taste like they're healthy?
We understand that many people will turn away from healthier foods due to their undesirable taste. Chocolate Covered Everything believes desserts should be delicious or there's no point eating them, so we will never sacrifice flavor just to make something healthy, but we will always add as much "healthy" as possible into everything we make!
Will I like your chocolate if I only like dark chocolate or milk chocolate?
Currently, we use a blend of semi-sweet dark chocolates. We have purposely created this special and unique combination so it appeals to everyone. We've heard from people who will only eat dark chocolate and people who only eat milk chocolate and they all love this blend!
Will I lose weight eating your products?
Please keep in mind that even though we always strive to make everything as high fiber, high protein, low sugar, and low fat as possible, Chocolate Covered Everything is not saying anything is low calorie, low fat, or low sugar. Even if you've heard it a million times, we'll say it again... Everything should be eaten in moderation, no matter how natural or healthy it is, or how good it tastes! Of course, if you exercise, you can always eat more!!!
Why don't my treats look exactly alike?
Each item is crafted individually by hand, so they will look similar, but they might be different sizes and have slight imperfections — something you wouldn't see if we were using molds to make our products. These imperfections do not in any way alter the quality or taste of our products, but they do represent all the love and attention that goes into each one!
How do I store your products?
Most of our products don't need to be refrigerated, but we recommend that you keep them in the refrigerator anyway, as refrigeration will extend the shelf life of any food item. Take them out of the refrigerator 10 to 15 minutes before eating to allow them to reach room temperature. The only reason we don't recommend freezing our products is due to the possible change of look or texture, but a lot of people do freeze some of our products and love them that way! So, you might want to try it!
Do your products contain lactose?
The chocolate we use does not contain lactose protein, but it was made in a facility that does process foods containing lactose. We can't guarantee that there aren't some random lactose proteins that have come in contact with our chocolate. So, if you have a severe allergy, please use good judgement when trying our products. Some of our products do contain milk butter — look for the lactose warnings next to the individual items on the website.
What if I have nut allergies?
We make many items with peanuts and other types of nuts. We do make plenty of items that don't contain nuts, but they are all made in the same facility... So unfortunately, if you have a nut allergy we think it's in your best interest to stay away from all of our products. Please look for the nut warnings next to the individual products on the website.
Do your products contain gluten?
Chocolate Covered Everything makes plenty of items that don't contain gluten, but those products are made in the same facility as the products that do contain gluten. If you have a severe allergy, please use your good judgement when trying our products. Look for the gluten warnings next to the individual products on the website.
Can I purchase items by the pound?
As a more convenient way for you to purchase larger quantities, we do offer some items that can be purchased by the pound. When you purchase items by the pound, they will not include a cotton pouch. Your items will still be individually wrapped with our signature sticker.
Do you offer shipping?
Yes, but we are not currently shipping any of our products that contain fresh fruit. Those items will be marked as local NYC delivery only. If you are in the New York City area, please contact us to place your order for those items.
Are there extra fees for shipping?
The total for shipping will include an additional package & handling fee. All of our packages are shipped with insulated shipping materials and cold packs to ensure your treats arrive to their new home as they should. These additional fees will range from $4.00 and up, depending on the size of your order. During warmer weather, shipping fees will increase due to the costs of overnight shipping and additional insulated packing materials. We will never charge your credit card until you approve these costs. We are continually working to keep our shipping costs as low as possible and will always pass those savings on to you.
What shipping carriers do you use?
We currently offer USPS, UPS, and FEDEX to ship your packages. You can review and choose your shipping options in your shopping cart before you chekout. We suggest you choose USPS Priority Mail for your shipments as we have found them to be very reliable, fast, and the most cost effective way for you to receive your packages within 1-3 business days. If you have a shipping account with a carrier and would like us to charge the shipping to your account, please feel free to contact us before placing your order.
Am I required to pay insurance for my shipments?
We offer optional insurance for shipping. To keep shipping costs down, we do not require that you add insurance to your orders under $200. But, if you do not choose to add insurance to your order then we cannot guarantee that we will be able to help you if your package is missing or damaged during shipping.
Can I trust your website to checkout with my personal information?
Your information is safe with us. We don't take or store any personal information on our site. When you add items to your cart the information is encrypted. When it's time to checkout, you will be sent to PayPal's secure checkout page where you will enter your personal information. PayPal is one of the leading and most trusted checkout methods on the internet.
Why do I need to checkout through PayPal?
We chose PayPal because it is one of the most trusted and secure online methods to checkout. PayPal gives us the ability to offer you many payment options to choose from. You can pay with any major credit card without having a PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account, you can sign in and pay through your own personal account with all of the options PayPal offers.
Do I need to have a PayPal account to checkout?
You are not required to have a PayPal account to checkout. You can pay with any major credit card without signing into a PayPal account. If you do have a PayPal account, you have the option to sign in and pay with any of PayPal's payment options.
When will I receive my order?
We ship orders out Monday through Thursday. Your package will typically arrive within 2 business days once it has been shipped. To avoid the possibility of your package getting stuck in a facility or on a truck over the weekend, we typically do not ship on Fridays. We will only ship on Fridays if you request a rush order with Saturday delivery.
Why isn't there an invoice in my package?
Chocolate Covered Everythig feels that reducing paper is just one of the little things we can do to help save the environment. You will receive an email of your invoice after you place your order. If you need a paper invoice in your package, please contact us to let us know.
Will my order include tax?
Chocolate Covered Everything is required to charge tax for any order that is purchased and shipped or delivered to an address within New York State. We currently do not charge tax for orders that are shipped to any other state.
Do you take requests?
Yes!! We are Chocolate Covered EVERYTHING, so please contact us with your special order requests. We make everything fresh and by hand, so based on your request, we will quote a price and timeline. Once you accept our quote and we receive your payment, we will move forward making your special order. Since we prefer to make things as healthy as possible, we will always suggest the most natural healthy ingredients for your order.
Do you personalize your pouches & packaging?
We offer logo design services and personalized pouches for weddings, parties, events, corporations, or anything that you might need! No minimum required. Please contact us with your requests and we will quote a price and timeline. Once our quote is accepted and we receive your payment, we will move forward making your personalized pouches. We will also work with you if you need different packaging for your event.
How do you pick the names for your products?
Most of the product names have special meanings to us. But we will occasionally have product naming contests for kids (adults can play too) — Keep an eye out for our contests!! Details will follow.
Do you donate to my favorite charity?
